He is a lifelong naturalist and studied zoology at Oxford university. One of the signature qualities in a Jackson painting is a deep knowledge not merely of how the various parts of an environment are constructed - the shapes of leaves, trees, rocks, birds, flowers etc, he also understands the processes of interaction and change to which all natural environments are subject. Kurt Jackson is one of Britain's leading painters. Born in 1961 his work embraces an extensive range of materials and techniques including mixed media, large canvases, relief work, print making and sculpture. This is Jackson’s first exhibition with Osborne Samuel Gallery and coincides with the launch of the artist’s new book. |
